Exhibition in Meaux :
Of stone and paper The work of the Marquise de Maillé in the service of heritage
Discover the little-known life of Aliette de Rohan-Chabot, Marquise de Maillé (1896-1972), who devoted her life to the knowledge and preservation of our heritage.
The Musée Bossuet in Meaux pays tribute to this great lady, an art historian recognised by her peers, who for fifty years was the tireless vice-president and then president of the Fondation La Sauvegarde de l'Art Français.
It was in Seine-et-Marne, where she had family ties, that she became most personally involved. In 1930, she published a book about Preuilly Abbey entitled: L'Église cistercienne de Preuilly.

Clairvaux. The Cistercian adventure
The exhibition Clairvaux. The Cistercian Adventure was designed in 2015 to mark the 900th anniversary of the founding of this abbey by Saint Bernard.
The exhibition invites visitors to discover the evolution of the abbey from its foundation to its transformation into a prison, its filiation and its European influence over seven centuries.
It focuses on three key periods in the abbey's history.
[The Origins of Clairvaux (1098-1153) looks back at the creation of the Cistercian order, the founding of the Abbey of Clairvaux and the personality of Saint Bernard.
Clairvaux, from the death of Saint Bernard to the Hundred Years' War (12th-13thᵉ century) presents the political, economic and cultural development of the abbey.
A time of crisis, a time of reform (XIVᵉ-XVIIIᵉ century) traces the successive transformations of Clairvaux through wars, epidemics and rebuilding, right up to its sale by the State.
